Ukrainian Farmers Started the 2024 Spring Sowing Campaign

Spring in the agricultural sector of Ukraine began with a key event – the start of the 2024 spring sowing campaign. With cherished hopes for a successful harvest, farmers in Vinnytsia, Mykolaiv, Odesa and Kherson Regions began sowing grain and grain legume crops.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, more than 22 thousand hectares have already been sown. Including a significant share of barley and peas, as well as wheat, which are the basis of the country’s grain reserves.

Currently, the distribution of sown areas is as follows:

Odesa Region is in the lead with 7.8 thousand hectares of barley and 7.1 thousand hectares of peas.
Agrarians of Mykolaiv Region are productively working on 3.5 thousand hectares of barley and 2.4 thousand hectares of peas.
In Vinnytsia Region, 0.8 thousand hectares of wheat and 0.5 thousand hectares of peas were sown, which emphasizes the importance of the region in ensuring the country’s grain reserves.
Kherson Region is not far behind, with 0.05 thousand hectares of barley and 0.15 thousand hectares of peas, demonstrating its potential in growing high-quality legumes.
The beginning of the sowing campaign is a time of great hope and hard work for Ukrainian farmers. Every year, despite the challenges, they continue to make their invincible contribution to the development of the country’s agriculture.

We wish good health and a rich harvest to our tireless farmers!
